Shari Allen Obituary

Shari Pierce Allen, April 1, 1947 - May 24, 2023
Shari Pierce Allen, 76, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Shari was born in Clovis, NM to Phillip "Muggins" and Hazel Pierce and was raised in Belen, NM, graduating from Belen High School in 1965. That same year she married her high-school sweetheart, Richard "Dickie" Allen and they had three daughters, Robin, Shawn, and Stacy. Shari was a loving and supportive wife and mother, and she always put family first. Shari was smart, and talented, and worked various jobs, ultimately finding her niche as a pharmacy manager. Shari was extremely innovative and was interested in anything that she could make herself, always thinking outside the box. She enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how to make the ideas in her head come to life. She was continuously working on multiple projects at once. She was fearless and inventive when it came to creativity. She could do anything, so she tried everything, including ceramics, mosaic tiling, sewing, crocheting, furniture restoration, gardening, and the list goes on. She was a wonderful seamstress, even opening a small business in the '80s that she named Sew What?, demonstrating her creativity and fantastic, unique sense of humor. Shari was also an avid collector of anything that piqued her interest. She had a keen talent for finding old, rare, and potentially valuable items, and she loved spending her free time going to garage and estate sales, hunting for treasures or a good deal. Her favorite items to collect were Mid-Century Modern (MCM) and Retro designs, mainly focusing on MCM and Depression-era glass. Her love for color, whimsy, and beauty is evident in the items she collected that filled her home. Shari is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dick Allen; their three daughters, Robin (Tom) Brazil, Shawn Cobb, and Stacy (Kelly) Lucero; her grandchildren Tyler and Cason Brazil, Kevin and Alexandria Cobb, and Kaeleb "Kael" Lucero; her great-granddaughters Alice, Amelia, and Danielle Brazil; and her niece Dana (Steve) Kerns: her great-nieces Moriah and Mirisa Kerns. She was preceded in death by her parents Muggins and Hazel Pierce and her sister Suzanne (Dicky) Romero. Shari was truly a remarkable woman, and she will be lovingly remembered and missed in so many ways by her family, her friends, and by all whose lives she touched during her life.
