Patricia Elizabeth (Kelly) Good

After a long and blessed life, Patricia Elizabeth Good, a resident of Rio Communities, peacefully joined the Lord on May 10th. Pat or Patty, as many called her, was born on June 27th, 1927 in Brandon, Minnesota to Laura and Michael Kelly. Patricia was born in the middle of 10 brothers and sisters. She attended school in Brandon and graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls, Minnesota. During her long life she spent 50 years in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Her sister introduced her to her future husband during WWII and after the war, she married Russell W. Good on January 7, 1948. Together they lived in Norwood, Minnesota for many years. They were the parents of five children, Russell K (Melodie) in Rio Communities, Michael (deceased) (Lisa), Mary Evans (Paul) in Thonotosassa, FL, Mark (Barbara) in Colorado Springs, and Colleen Hermansen (Steve) in Savage, Minnesota. While living in Minnesota, Patricia spent most of her early married life in Norwood raising her children. When they moved to Burnsville in the Twin Cities area, she was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Catholic Church and volunteered in various capacities. She also enjoyed working with photo retouching for several different photographers. In 1983, Patricia and Russell, then retired, moved to New Mexico to help their son on his sod farm in Rio Communities. Patricia became very active in Our Lady of Belen, Catholic church, belonging to the Legion of Mary and volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul for many years. She loved plants and had a very green thumb, and for a time she worked at a green house in Jarales before settling into life as a loving grandmother. She dearly loved traveling around New Mexico with her daughters when they would come to visit. They shared many great memories in these last years. She had 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren in Rio Communities are Jeff Good (Cathyanne), Kelly Badger (Bret), and Anne-Marie Wilson (Jonathan). Raquel Strand (Mike) and Paul Good (Beatrice) live in Coon Rapids, Mn. Dr. Jim Evans (Diana) Arlington, Virginia; Julie Moss (Chad) Palm Harbor, Fl; Dalena Good, Castle Rock, Co; Chris Good (Sivan), TelAviv, Isreal; Dr. Kalynn Steiner (Andrew) Parker, Co; Sara Kirk (Tony) Arlington, Tx. ; and Laura Hermansen, Savage, Mn. She is preceded in death by her husband Russell and her son, Michael. Patricia Good has been an inspiration to all who knew her for her love and faith in God. Her laughter and love will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the kind staff at The Center for Ageless Living for their love and care in the last year. Services for Patricia will be at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on May 17, 2022. A short visitation will take place at 9:15am followed by the rosary at 9:30am and a funeral mass at 10:00 am am. Patricia will be laid to rest at a later date nest to her husband at the Veterans Cemetery in Santa Fe.
