Dolores "Dodie" Padilla, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by her sons and close family. She was a loving wife, mother and nana. Dodie was married to her honey Ruben for 52 years. Together they created a beautiful family. They showed their children and grandchildren how to love and support their loved ones. Dodie was very proud of her family and dedicated her life to the wellbeing of children and grandchildren. In her role as mother, Dodie supported Rachel and the boys, Franco, Matthew and Andre, with unconditional love. Being a nana was a role she took on with pride. Her hitas and hitos were her world. She spent her days in the bleachers supporting everyone from her kids all the way down to her great nieces and nephews, in every sport and extracurricular activity that you could think of. She cared for all those around her and supported them with her unwavering acts of kindness. She always had a warm meal for her family and welcomed everyone and anyone into her home. From her taco beans to her red chile, there isn't a meal that won't bring fond memories of her kitchen to those who knew her best. We can see her now with one leg up stirring food at her stove. Dodie will be remembered as someone who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. Her t-shirts matched her lively attitude. She was someone everyone could count on in every way possible. Although she saved her hugs and kisses for her hitas and hitos, her family knew the deep love and care Dodie had for each and every one of them. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pablo and Manuelita Sanchez, Nicholas and Josefita Gabaldon; parents, Frank and Nellie Sanchez; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernesto and Carlota Padilla; siblings, Roland Sanchez and Veronica Garrett; in laws, Helen (Albino), Lucy, Ramona (Wayne), Bennie, Eloy, Larry, Robert and Stanley; husband, Ruben Padilla and daughter, Rachel Archuleta. Dodie is survived by sons, Franco (Elena), Matthew (Casey), Andre (Samantha) and Daniel; grandchildren , Taeya (Jarod), Matias, Khloee, Jordyn, Mia, Taylor and Lucas; sisters, Ruth Lopez (Dave), Pauline Chavez (Dennis); sisters-in-law, Janet Sanchez, Loretta Padilla and many nieces, nephews and family.
