Ada May (Harp) Cates

Ada May Cates, 90, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday October 6, 2021. Ada was born September 16, 1931 to Earl and Edith Harp in Keota, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) of 55 years and her son William Roy Cates. She is survived by her sons James (Jimmy) and wife Kimberlea and Richard (Dale) and wife Cheryl. Ada attended Isleta High School in Isleta, TX where she met Bill. They later moved to Jal, NM in 1958 where Bill worked for EPNG and Ada opened her beauty salon. Years later she worked for EPNG until her retirement. Ada liked camping as well as her love for gardening and golf. In addition to her three sons, she had 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was laid to rest on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm with memorial services at the Jal Cemetery, Jal, NM. Ada was loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
