Abenicio Padilla Obituary

Abenicio (Abe) Padilla, age 79, a lifelong resident of Belen. passed away Monday, March 29, 2021. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and also served in the New Mexico Air National Guard 150th fighter wing (Flying Tacos) in the Vietnam War and retired from the State of New Mexico Correctional Facility. Abe loved being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved working on his yard, enjoyed doing woodworking, hunting, traveling and the casino. Abenicio was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Padilla; mother, Pablita Padilla; father-in-law, Eliseo Gabaldon; mother-in-law, Lenor (Maye) Gabaldon; sister, Celia Sanchez; brother, Antonio Padilla JR; four brothers-in-law, Jimmy Sanchez, Dennis Quintana, Elias Jaramillo and Pat Olquin; granddaughter, Alexus Padilla and family dog, Gizmo.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dulcie Padilla; three kids, Joseph Padilla, Margaret Padilla-Gallegos and Abby Peralta (Kenneth); five grandchildren, Ariel Gallegos, Brittany Gallegos (Travis), Jazmin Peralta (Mariah), Chantel Padilla (Gabriel), Kenneth Peralta JR; four great-grandchildren, Melody Lynch, Shaw Busch, Jericho Lynch, Serenity Aleman; sister, Kate Jaramillo; brother, Candelario Padilla (Elosia); sisters-in law, Stella Olguin, Carol Quintana and Florela Padilla.
Special thanks to our family and friends that have prayed and supported us in the time of need and also to the Armada Hospice Nurses.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Friday, April 9, 2021. The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM, followed by a rosary at 9:30 AM and the funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ariel and Brittany Gallegos, Jazmin and Kenneth JR Peralta and Chantel Padilla.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melody and Jericho Lynch, Shaw Busch and Serenity Aleman.
