Peggy S. Johnson was called home on March 25, 2024.
Peggy was born on January 3, 1958, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She grew up in Carlsbad, NM., where she attended school and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1976. She met and married the love of her life, Rocky, in 1979, in Carlsbad, NM. She then went to International Business College and graduated with her associates in computer administration. They were blessed with their son, Stephen, in 1990, in Lubbock, TX. Peggy was a published illustrator for Children's Christian Curriculum. She was an advocate for children with autism. Peggy loved animals and was a vet tech while living in Lubbock, TX. Peggy was a computer lab instructor at Los Lunas Elementary for many years. She loved teaching all the children there. Peggy retired from Los Lunas Schools in 2023. Peggy was a member of Valley Church of Christ in Los Lunas, NM.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Gene Weatherford of Waxahachie, TX.; father-in-law, Gary Johnson of Belen; sister-in-law Shauna Ellison; brother-in-law's Ricky Johnson; Johnny Baker, and Scott Detrick of Belen.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Rocky Johnson; son, Stephen Johnson; mother, Carolyn Rose; sister Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Bruhl of Missouri; mother-in-law, Darlene Johnson; sister-in-laws, Shelly Detrick and Vicky Baker; best friends, Marie Coode of Nashville TN and Shelley Alsbaugh of Bosque NM. She is also survived by many other loving family members as well as lots of nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Peggy.
